Chansley, who is also known by his stage name Jake Angeli, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of obstructing an official proceeding last week. In a court order unsealed on Friday, U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth decided against releasing Chansley from jail prior to his sentencing hearing, which is set for November 17. Two previous requests for Chansley’s release had also been denied. “Upon consideration of the parties’ briefs, the arguments offered at the hearing, and the record herein, the Court will DENY Chansley’s motion for release from custody pending sentencing,” Lamberth wrote in the order....

Ahwad Al Aliwi Alissa is charged with opening fire in a King Soopers store in March. Judge Ingrid Bakke made the ruling after District Attorney Michael Dougherty showed her results of a mental examination on Alissa. According to AP, Dougherty said four doctors deemed the 22-year-old mentally incompetent to take part in court proceedings. He did not disclose the details of Alissa’s mental illness or why the doctors came to that conclusion....

The Patriots recevier has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday’s game against the Jets after suffering a chest injury, the team announced. NFL Media later reported Edelman suffered a rib injury but X-Rays were negative. Edelman appeared to sustain the injury in the second quarter and initially was listed as questionable to return. Fellow receiver Josh Gordon also left the game with an injury and even visited the medical tent but returned after halftime....

Multiple reports early Sunday suggested Atlanta would deal the 32-year-old receiver to the Titans. The Falcons and Titans confirmed the trade shortly after news broke. The Falcons will receive a 2022 second-round pick in the NFL Draft as well as a 2023-fourth-rounder. The Titans will also receive a 2023 sixth-rounder. Because the move came after June 1, it also allowed the Falcons to create more salary cap space on top of unloading Jones’ three-year, $66 million contract....
